Welcome to Beccles Lido Limited
Beccles Lido Limited (BLL) is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. It was founded in 2009 by Shaun Crowley (now Managing Director), along with Suzanne Gibbons and Maureen Saunders. Their goal was to rescue the old, neglected heated outdoor swimming pool in Beccles – and bring it back to life as Beccles Lido.
Thanks to their vision and dedication, Beccles Lido was successfully restored and is now a thriving, community-run facility enjoyed by the local community and visitors alike.
As BLL grew, so did its impact on the town. In 2012, BLL acquired Big Dog Ferry – a unique riverboat service running between Beccles Lido and The Locks Inn Community Pub in Geldeston. The ferry operation was established and has since become a popular way to enjoy the beauty of the River Waveney.
Then, in 2013, BLL took over management of Beccles Public Hall & Theatre. The Hall has become a much-loved venue for entertainment and community events in the heart of Beccles.
