Big Dog Ferry

Big Dog Ferry is a 1950s open former lifeboat that runs between Beccles Lido and the Locks Inn, Geldeston.

It is a relaxing 3 mile boat journey along one of the most attractive and unspoilt stretches of the River Waveney.  We travel west towards the unique riverside pub at Geldeston.  See if you can spot the kingfishers, marsh harriers and otters en route through the beautiful Waveney Valley.

The Ferry also stops by request (telephone bookings only) at Geldeston Marina and Three Rivers Campsite in Geldeston – where you can explore the attractions of Geldeston, including Mandy’s famous Pickles and the Wherry Inn, Geldeston.

With up to 5 return trips daily during daylight hours, there’s an option to disembark and enjoy a meal and a drink at Geldeston, or stay on board for a round trip.

If you’re feeling energetic, you can take a one-way ticket and walk back along delightful footpaths.
